How long have you been a part of Harvest?

Why did you choose to make Harvest your home church?
Because the teaching comes straight from Gods word.
Where are you currently serving?
We serve as greeters, as a Safe Family, as mentors at the Rockford Rescue Mission and in the Tutoring Club ministry. We are trying to use whatever we have to serve. My wife has been gifted with great planning and organization. She is also very good with numbers. She loves children and is a great help in keeping everything balanced. I love people and I love serving the body. I think I am especially drawn to seeking lost souls. I really just want for my family (and myself) to follow the example Jesus set for us, and just pour love into each other and the body.
How have you seen God move?
I've seen God move in helping us to become more focused on learning what it means to truly serve God. He has moved us to overcome fears and opened us up to serve rather than just being spectators. He has given us some great examples of love shown here at Harvest, which has really helped us to see how to love others. God has truly opened our hearts to care.
What obstacles have you overcome?
There have been a few obstacles that God has helped us overcome. There were some transportation issues and scheduling issues that we had to get around but God helped us pull together. Also, in regards to finances, we had a few struggles and still do at times, but we’ve learned to trust in God. We do what we can and he will do the rest....but the main thing is to keep Christ in the center of EVERYTHING!
